Shelby is a graduate with a wealth of experience in providing a high level of support across a range of commercial litigation and public law matters.
Prior to joining Phi Finney McDonald, Shelby was Executive Assistant and Associate to her Honour Justice D S Mortimer in the Federal Court of Australia, where she worked on a number of class actions, native title and public law matters, with a particular focus on migration, environmental and anti-discrimination matters.
Through her experience at the Court, Shelby developed an interest in class actions and public interest litigation. Her interest in class actions has been deepened through her studies, where she completed her honours thesis on the recent reforms to Victoria’s class action regime. Shelby is interested in how class actions can be used to facilitate access to both social and economic justice.
Shelby also worked as a legal assistant at a number of reputable firms before and during her study of law. During this time she gained experience in multiple areas, including; Corporate M&A, financial services and insolvency litigation, and banking and finance law. Shelby is a team player who is committed to delivering high quality outcomes for her clients.
