Associate

Kate is a dedicated advocate for her clients and draws from a breadth of experience in commercial and public interest litigation.

Prior to joining Phi Finney McDonald, Kate worked in the commercial litigation and dispute resolution team of a mid-tier firm.  Kate has conducted and defended complex litigation proceedings in the Victorian and the Federal jurisdictions on behalf of private individuals and companies.  Kate has advised and represented clients involved in contractual disputes, oppression proceedings and property disputes. 

Through her pro bono work, Kate has represented people seeking asylum and refugees in Australia, Pakistan and Nauru to file administrative appeals against the Minister for Home Affairs and the Republic of Nauru and common law proceedings against the Commonwealth of Australia.
