Climate litigation is in increasing in Australia, as pressure increases on governments and business to meet their legal obligations on climate change and the environment.  Despite having the highest greenhouse gas emissions per capita of any industrialised nation, the Commonwealth government and Australia’s biggest polluters have failed to act consistent with scientific evidence on climate change.  Accordingly, Australians are turning to the courts to enforce government and corporate accountability.
