Principal Lawyer

Paul Zawa is a senior lawyer with over 25 years of litigation experience. Having practised in a wide variety of areas, he applies his depth of knowledge to achieving highly effective and creative solutions for clients.

Prior to joining Phi Finney McDonald, Paul most recently headed up the Victorian/Tasmanian Enforcement Branch of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, where he was responsible for investigations into and court cases involving anti-competitive conduct and consumer protection. He led a number of landmark cases making new law and delivering record penalties and compensation to victims, including in the High Court of Australia. Paul has also been a litigation partner at a number of major Australian law firms where he specialised in Intellectual Property. While practising in that area, he was recognised by Chambers Global, Doyle’s Guide and Best Lawyers for his work.
